I love this image from "Saturday Evening Post" for Cornish Heritage Farms. I had to play with it a bit and decided simply embossing with silver and not coloring the image was most effective for me.

The image is stamped with Versamark on to Solar White Skinny Columns and embossed with silver powder. They layer behind the image and the card base is Indigo Blue Skinny Columns. DP unknown. Perhaps My Minds Eye. Ribbon also unknown. Can you tell I am incredibly disorganized? :)

I added some diamonds stickles to the sky portion and then scraped it off so it gave off a subtle glittery glow and then added sugar sparkly fluff. which is glittered flock. to Santa's beard. And yes I am late. Sorry. I decided to create chocolate gift holders for my Snow People challenge. Always fun to pass around this time of year. Keep a purse full and its always a surprise for the dry cleaner or the checkout at the grocery store etc. You get the idea. I found this stamp set in my stash from Basic Grey called Snow Baby. Who knew clear stamps is "tampons transparents" in french i'm guessing. All paper is from a Basic Grey kit i received eons ago. Cut the paper with a nestabiltie die and added some ribbon and cut out my snow people and I'm good. :) I added Twinklets to the snow hats and the penguin.

GC61: Chestnut Theme Challenge - Heat

"Think hot thoughts! Create steamy scenes or use hot colors or incorporate quotes about heat, fire, or flame. Don't sweat it!"
I didn't read all the description, as is my nature. I can be rather impulsive. So I took heat literally. So I used a heat gun. I crumpled up Kraft paper from Paper Temptress and crumpled it again. Then I brayered Versamark over that paper after I unfolded. The idea is the Versamark will sit on the folds. Then I sprinkled metallic blue embossing powder all over it and heated it. This is Gilding. You knew that though right.

I stamped the image from Hearts In Touch #97 HIT Mermaids with versamark and used the same embossing powder. I then just dipped the edge of the image CS in to the versamark and dipped in different ep's and heat set and wala. We have a card. I lurve this blue metallic embossing powder. It's American Crafts Zing. Looks like denim with Kraft.

So after fully reading the project description I was playing with the canvas and this one i just sorta slapped paint in to bead gel and slapped on to the canvas. Love my artsy crafty techie terms? And it reminded me of a blazing sun beating down on the grass. I decided to capture it before I added something to it and perhaps taking away the "heat" element of it. So there it is. Is all new to me. Shar (Sharon), my beautiful friend and co founder of the Gingers and Gingersnap Creations has been working on some canvas and they are jaw dropping gorgeous. Check out Shar's blog here and browse around for a bit. Lots of fabulous eye candy and inspiration to be found.

So. She inspired me to step out of my little tiny box. I was very inimidated until I found this wee little canvas in my stash o stuff and it measures 2.5" x 2.5". What a great way to start small no?!

So here is my first wee canvas using metallic acrylic paints and doo dads again from my stash o stuff.

I had fun makin a big ole mess and glueing and slapping stuff on here. Kinda cool huh?! Here's part of my mess.

I know some will say thats no mess at all. Yes it is. This is room 1 of 3. This is my laundry room. No room to do laundry. Oh well.

Here is a canvas in progress I started yesterday. Not sure what I'm going to do with it yet. And come back tomorrow so I can show you another one :)

Have you noticed how I tend to work in the same color scheme on several projects right in a row. Yep I do that.

GC60: Color Challenge - Shades of Blue

I had this fabulous picture of Jon Bon Jovi that I took at the Key Arena on February 19th. He is wearing this gorgeous blue shirt and I wanted to make a scrapbook page and thought this would be the perfect challenge to do that. I grabbed a piece of Sparkle Blanc and regular copy paper. I poured some paint in a paper plate and dippep some string in to the paint then laid different pieces of string in varying directions on my paper. I put the piece of copy paper on top of that and then tried to pull the strings out to get an interesting pattern. I didn't turn out lik I expected. I was hoping for cleaner lines but I guess my strings were too wet. That's okay. Still kind of cool so I am gonna use it anyway.

These are background papers made with leftover paint, glimmer mists and deli paper.

Grabbed some of my Jovi paraphanalia and put a quick page together. Which now I have decided I am going to frame and hang on on my Jovi walls. Did she say walls! Yep. I said walls :D

The "Super Rock Star" is from a set of $1 stamps from Michaels and embossed with gold. I used a sponge brush to edge the page with blue. And I used my carpet thingie to add the dots. See my little cupid charm? ;)

So that's it. Late as usual. Better late then never. I am working on that. Hope everyone is a having a fabulous and fantastic weekend.

This weeks challenge at the Squigglefly Blog is "add a bit of yellow to celebrate the beginning of summer". I've so wanted to use this image "Hands" by artist Lynne Stansbery and the sentiment "Parents" by artist Chesney Young, So yay i finally am!

I inserted the Hands image in to a word doc, rotated the image and then positioned it at 4 1/4. I wanted the image to be part of my background paper. My background paper is Sparkle Blanc from Paper Temptress. The sentiment is also printed on Sparkle Blanc and layered on Solar Yellow Pearlescent from Paper Temptress. CAS with a hint of yellow. CAS was not part of the challenge but I thought it would be kinda cool this way.

OKAY! I have no idea why this turned out bluish. I had the blinds open, the overhead and the ott lite on. Flash made it worse. However....this does show you the detail of this image and how fabulous it is printed on the Sparkle Blanc CS and I didn't have to treat it, emboss it. Nuthin. Awesome Right!

Another picture showing the sparkle and also the richness of the Pearlescent paper. And you know what to do when you can't cut a straight line? Distress baby!

Hearts In Touch Challenge

Black & White and one color. I printed the image from Hearts In Touch #141 Strip A on Sparkle Blanc and added a few pearl accents. The image is adhered to Crystal Clear CS stamped in white staz on with flourishes from Hearts In Touch #141 Strip A and a $1 sentiment stamp from Michaels. I adhered a layer of Sparkle Noir to the inside of the front cover. When you open up the card the colored layer is Mars Mica/Metallic and the white square for an inside sentiment is Sparkle Blanc. Everything is adhered with vellum glue dots. All paper from Paper Temtpress. I've never done a transparency card before so this was all new to me. Many of you know I have been rather slumped and many of you know why. I love these fairy's from the #100 Marjolein Fairy Art plate from Hearts In Touch and usually i would add many layers and this time i felt simple was best. I stamped the image with black Versafine on some dp, sorry don't know what, and clear embossed. Surprised? The phrase "a fairy is near" is actually a portion of a phrase included with the rubber. Squigglefly Challenge

Posted every Monday. Today is what??????????????? Tuesday. Dang it. And Wednesday for some of you. Well that's okay. Better late then never right? ;)

This weeks challenge selected by the ever talented Maria is picnic themed. Use any Squigglefly food or beverage image and make something!

So I had this fabulous wine and grapes image titled Wine Country created by artist Lynn Stansbury.I printed the image on Sparkle Blanc from Paper Temptress and thought I would try something new. I didn't know what that something new was; I was just gonna try it.

I have these Derwent Metallic pencils that I have NEVER used so decided to color my image with the few colors available. It was like a green, bergundy and grey. Then I matched those colors to some paper from Paper Temptress. Then I tapped a distress ink (sorry forgot what color) on to my craft mat and picked up some ink with a stipple brush and sort of started brushing it across the image. Mind you this paper was white to begin yet you can still see all the fabulous sparkle when done. (this may be a take on a Technique Junkie technique. Feel free to let me know). I liked it :) so I edged it with gold leaf and layered with Mars Mica Metallic, Gamma Green Pearlescent, Sparkle Noir and base is Mars Mica Metallic. No idea where the sentiment came from but deemed it appropro. Punched out with an SU punch and edged with gold leaf pen.

Gingersnap Creations Challenge #57 - Wings

The theme at Gingersnap Creations this month is flight and this week's challenge is to make something with wings. I'm at a stage in my life where I need to soar and grow, take flight so to speak, yet there is lots of confusion and indecisions. I thought journaling would help and somehow this composition book came together. It suits me. I like it.

The gorgeous image is from the Winged Women collage sheet from Altered Pages. I positively love that collage sheet. It is layered on Black Crepe Ruche and wings from Tim Holtz grungeboard that I just sort of slathered with acrylic paint. Did I say I love acrylic paints :) I couldn't find any background papers in my stash that I liked (imagine that) so I took my Red Crepe Ruche and slathered some acrylic paints on that too! I loved how it turned out. It was perfect for what I wanted. The hardware, ribbon and chipboard were in my "stash" so I don't know where they are from.

It's national crack a book month so Gingersnap Creations is celebrating the written word with challenges. This week is to use the colors Burgundy, Ivory & Black. I chose to alter a composition book. I was in need of a new sketch and note book so the timing was perfect. All papers and ribbon were part of an Altered Composition Book kit that I purchased from Altered Pages a while ago. Artistic Oupost has this fabulous stamp set "Birds of a Feather" which I thought would be perfect for the challenge. I also snuck in a little pencil for the GC54: Spicy Supply Challenge - Pencils challenge that I missed last week. See the red on the Robin's belly. Un huh. Pencil :) Pencils and I don't get along typically. However I thought it added the perfect touch for this image. Just sayin.

I stamped the Robin in Memento Rich Cocoa and clear embossed, surprise! Paper and ribbon are from a Taylored Expressions kit.

Flutter By Wednesday Challenge

The challenge this week at Flutter By Wednesday is to use flowers with a butterfly, fairy or angel image. Well... I have this great little book of butterfly images that I purchased for .50 at b&n that i have been itching to use in something. So I did :) I just loved the vibrant colors of the butterfly and flowers and knew I was going to use it for today's challenge.

Very little stamping here. Simply the "Hello"... It is somewhat refreshing to have wonderful collage images to work with and make it so easy to put a card together. Great paper. Great collage images. And/Or great stamps. I find the little or no stamping right now a bit of a relief yet I am still creating which is a good thing.

The layers of the cs behind the butterfly image are: Solar Yellow Pearlescent, Amber Mica/Metallic, Solar Yellow Pearlescent again and Punch Mica/Metallic. All from Paper Temptress.

Corrosive Challenge #64

Gradually getting back to the groove here. This weeks challenge at The Corrosive Challenge blog is to do an easel card. This is one I haven't done so it was a great challenge and a good exercise in my ruler skills. Sorry I'm late my fellow CC friends.

Onward. No stamping here. I used an image from the Mucha Theatre collage sheet from Altered Pages {{{{{i'm having a giveaway}}}} :0 The dp is My Minds Eye! Cant' recall the line. I did receive it from Jackie @ Altered Pages in a kit a few years ago. The card base is SU Ruby Red. Yep it's been 5 days since I posted and last week my heart wasn't in to it. This is non craft related till the very end if you're not interested. There's a band I love!!! Like A Storm. They grew up in New Zealand and moved to Vancouver, BC, which is about 3 hours from me and they are now on their first ever US headlining tour. they have been touring with Creed and Puddle of Mudd.

Saw them in November with Puddle of Mudd and they became an obession. They are THAT GOOD! Some may recall my poster that said "Debby You Rock" ;) That was them. So I've been begging and begging and begging "Please please please come back to Seattle." We weren't on the ticket till about 8 days ago. Then my life completely shut down. I am a rockstar groupie as many of you may have guessed. I'm particular, yet groupie I am.

I volunteered to work the show in whatever manner, merchandise, email sign ups you name it. That included a bonafide meet and greet. At least I was determined it would. You see, I love this man. His name is Chris. He is one of the brothers and lead singer of Like A Storm. My world shut down because I knew I was coming face to face with this beautiful creature and I was nervous nervous nervous. And that is all I thought about for at the beginning of 8 days ago. I am very shy in person and I was just sweating it. Yes Jon would be crushed but we wont tell him ;) Can you tell I am just giddy?

So we walk in the door at the club and who is standing there? This amazing, purty guy. Matt. Matt is another brother in the band. He asked if I wanted to hold his guitar. How cool is that?!

Matt is truly a rockstar and nice guy through and through.

So then who comes walking out? Thomas. Thomas is not a brother and still sooooo darn cute! Doncha think?

Thomas plays the drums and is oh so talented and uber uber cute. How funny we sort of matched. His tat matches my shirt :)

Last but most certainly not least is Kent. Oh so tall & gorgeous. He is a brother and he chats with everyone on Facebook and MySpace and the Stormtrooper chat room and super super nice and super super gorgeous. Don't even try to tell me he isn't.

So dh is the photographer here. Rather tolerant doncha think? :) It's all a harmless obsession.

And here is the other Debbie that was my fellow Stormtrooper at this show.

She knows the boyz very well and was very kind and generous and introduced me to the boyz and pretty much let me ride her coat tails all night. She is awesome.

Okay. So there it is. I just could not think and am still on cloud 9 and hopefully this weekend I can get my act together. A friend and I are going to the rubber stamp show in Puyallup tomorrow so that should be fun. Hopefully I will find some cool stuff.

Oh. And look. I had Rockstar fingernails too!

I know my FB friends have seen this pics before but some of my blogging friends are not FB friends so wanted to share a little of my passion here, there and everywhere.

You want a card now? Okay here it is. I actually created this over a week ago and it appeared on the Squigglefly blog for a Squigglefly challenge. The challenge was "Use Embossing, wet or dry!" I chose to emboss my dp with a cb folder. I don't know what it is called right now. I thought it sorta looked like little buttons to go with the theme of my card. The sewing machine image and sentiment are part of the "Stitched With Love" that will be released tomorrow at Squigglefly by talented artist Nina Brackett. The chipboard sewing machine I received from Taylored Expressions and it is just the coolest thing ever. Honestly I cannot remember what I colored it with. I cannot remember the Copics I used. I am numb. I do remember using many many many Copics one over the other because the colors weren't quite right. Duh. I don't know. for those of you reading, thanks for hanging with me. For those of you who chose not to read, please stay with me :) This is probably the longest post with the most talking I have EVER EVER EVER done!

I am behind on many dt obligations & expectations. I'll get back in the groove soon I promise. Don't give up on me!

This weeks challenge is to use the following sketch.

For once I actually followed the sketch :/ just tipped it on the side.

The cute polar bear image which I colored brown, not sure why, is from Cutie Critter set at Frenzified. Frenzified is sponsoring The Corrosive Challenge blog this month so be sure to head on over to find out how you can win!

Right on. Worked beautifully and gave the bear that perfect little fuzzy texture I needed. I used the sentiment from the Cutie Critters Bear Sentiment set for the inside of the card. Still trying to roll with the sketch ;)

I printed my sentiment on Heavenly White from Paper Temptress. I cannot tell you why I didn't print on the Ruche. I guess I wasn't thinking clearly when I was trying to put the card together ;/

Here I've used Fancy Butterfly (copied and resized a few times) and Pixie Dust Fairy together. I combined both images in a word doc and printed out on Solar White Skinny Columns from Paper Temptress. Sorry my coloring isn't so great tonight as much as I tried. We all have off nights right? Or is it just me? I used the Spica a lot and my new favorite stamp. Yep. the "don't squish the carpet under the 200 lb tv thingy".

I love it. Look at the great speckles I got on the paper. That's what I'm talkin about.

My image is layered on Ruche paper from Paper Temptress. Can't go wrong here! Amazing texture and stability. Purty stuff. This is a 5x5 and there simply wasn't room for embellishments. You know. Sometimes you gotta let the paper do the talkin. If I were to put too many embellishments here, even ribbon, overkill. I tried it. Trust me.

More Recycling

Remember this? Debby Boltman: Happy Saturday Recycling!

Well I had a question about a recycling item in the pic, particularly the rug stay in place thingy. So I went to work.

I ship stuff in ugly envelopes. I have this particular ugly envelope lying on a roll of paper I use all the time for spraying and masking. Might make a great background at some point.

I layed the rubber carpet thingy over my envie and sparyed with color mists from outside the margins.

i let the color mists dry then i started stamping.

i also wanted to use the rubber stuff as a stamp so i simply wrapped it around a wood mounted stamp that was sitting on my desk.

and stamped with rubber side down. if some of the pattern came thru. cool. and i used acrylics. i love using acrylics to stamp. a little messy and distressed. i love it!

than i was looking around for something and saw this plastic thing that you put under heavy items and the carpet doesn't get squished. Well trust me they don't work for that. So I dipped the pointy ends in to the cute little pile of white acrylic paint and made my own little polka dot background :)

and then oh know! Do not pour the acrylics out because i go a bit nuts and start looking for colors and materials and papers and anything that might make something cool.

i haven't used the piece below on anything yet. i will though.

Pretty cool huh?! I would love to see what YOU do with those cool things hanging out in your recycle bin. You know the paper towel rolls or tp rolls could be made in to napkin holders ;)

Okay I have to pause for a second here.

I printed many images out on this paper and not one smear or flaw. Not one I tell you! and I have a very cheap printer. Remember? I clear emboss everything. I didn't with these. There was no reason. I used my SU markers because I didn't have copics that matched the paper right now and I'm glad I did use the SU markers. I was VERY pleasantly surprised at how smooth they layed down on the paper and still gave an essence of texture. Right on! My new favorite paper! Layered on Canyon Brown, Windsor Blue & Safari Brown. All from the Skinny Columns at Paper Temptress. Strip of dp is the same I used the other day from Websters Pages. Image is colored with markers from SU and the sand was covered with glossy accents and clear micro beads from SU.

I suppose I could but I feel guilty enough all ready. Life does get in the way of play sometimes and I will not bore you with the details. Onward.

Yesterday was Flutter By Wednesday #107 that just so happened to be a challenge that I suggested and here I am a day later. The challenge this week is to make a CAS (clean and simple) card with a butterfly, fairy or angel. Now I try not to combine challenges, not for any specific reason, that's just the way I like to do it. However this week I shall because it works for me :) Yesterday the Gingersnap Creations blog also presented a new color challenge. GC52: Color Challenge - Kraft - Use Kraft or a light tan anywhere on your creation.

My card uses Kraft from Paper Temptress and the dp is Websters Pages. The stamp is from the Winged Whimsy plate by Time to Stamp that you can purchase at I Brake for Stamps. And then you have my dearly loved Smiles stamp. If I lose that my world will come crumbling down :)

This time I have chosen "Angels". I adore the font on this! Using Word I added the "walk among us", printed out on Neenah White and embossed with my cuttlebug with a Quikutz folder. I thought the embossing, amazing on the Neenah, and the font so dang pretty I just felt like there was nothing more I could or should do. So I simply layered on Neenah Black and added some white satin ribbon. I felt like it was effective yet subtle. I have a friend who recenty lost a furry family member and I think this would be perfect for her.

Corrosive Challenge #60

This weeks challenge is paper piercing. Typically i don't have the patience for paper piercing however this time I found it rather fun.

I used an Ornare template for my paper piercing. This image is from Hearts In Touch #141 Strip B and stamped on Acetate with India ink and spotted with alchol inks on the other side. Layered on paper by Basic Grey, Stampin Up and Paper Temptress. Ribbon and buttons and basic grey paper are some items from the April/May Embellishment pack at Hearts In Touch.

Welcome to another Flutter By Wednesday!! The challenge this week is open! Just be sure to have a butterfly, fairy or angel on your new creations!!

My fairy images is from Hearts In Touch Marjolein Fairy Art. I really need to practice coloring these images because so far evrything I do simply does not do them justice. So after a few attempts at coloring I decided to simply stamp and emboss and I love this effect because it really brings out the detail of the stamps.

And my sentiment is my trusty "Smiles" stamp. My favorite ;)

GC50: Spicy Supply Challenge - Found Objects

Okay found object is a total and complete stretch for me. My project includes corrugated paper painted with black ink and swiped with white ink on a wood frame. A brown paper sack as part of the background in the frame. Another piece of the background is red tyvec painted with lumieres and crumpled and flattened. The branches are dead branches from one of my house plants. The tire swing is off of a lamp that I tore apart and saved pieces from. so uh yeah. almost put my little captain jack on the swing but the bugger wouldn't sit down.

GC49: Chestnut Theme Challenge - The Good Earth

Every Wednesday Gingersnap Creaions has a new challenge. This week is a Chestnut Theme Challenge entitled Good Earth. I struggled with this for some reason. Then I saw Ali's post here and was inspired. Had to try it. Immediately. Then I thought the Old Grist Mill plate from Artistic Outpost would be perfect for the challenge theme and the Ali technique, as I will call it. So I tried to imagine the image while dropping alchohol inks, wish I would have stayed away from the metallic, and overall thought it turned out nicely. So then what do I do with it. Everything I tried just made everything seem so busy busy busy. The image on the vellum really needs to stand on its own. The image has its own frame and everything. What more could I possibly do? I loved Ali's background paper behind her image I just didn't use the right image for that effect. However, I like it so here it is. My Good Earth challenge using Ali's technique. The bit of texture you see if you do a close up is clear embossing powder. Always gives a nice little raised image with shimmer. Be careful on heating vellum though. You want to go high and slow. The ink I used is Versafine Onyx Black.

Btw. I love love love the soft look with the vellum. So much nicer IRL.

The Gingersnap Creation challenge this week is "growth". Every day I look at my daughter and wonder in awe at what a beautiful young lady she is becoming however that doesn't stop me from wanting to turn back the clock. :-) And as much as she doesn't like to admit it, we are very very much alike. We have our ups and downs of course but that doesn't change how close we are and how much I love her. So here is my growth piece. Image is from Artistic Outpost Generation Redux. The sentiment is computer generated.

GC47: Color Challenge - Copper, Ginger or Rust

As this particular color challenge was our first ever challenge on the blog, we decided to make it a yearly event! Welcome to our 2nd annual Copper, Ginger or Rust Color Challenge!
We hope these colors will bring out the Gingersnapper in you!"

I had this huge roll of copper sheeting that I had purchased years and years ago and never broke out of the box. I was playing around a while back and decided to cut a piece and run it through the bug. It came out beautiful. I wish I had added paint or ink to it. Perhaps today I will try that. Earlier on, if you recall, I had done foil with alcohol inks.

The image is from Hearts In Touch #100 Marjolein Fairy Art. The image is stamped on painted, scraped and stamped background paper I created. The card base is Luna Blue Pearlescent from Paper Temptress.

Corrosive Challenge #56

This weeks challenge is paper piecing. I don't do this very often because I just forget about it. It's so easy to do though. I printed my digi image out three times. Once on white and once on 2 different patterned papers. Cut out the patterns I wanted for the top and the skirt and wa la! Papers are all from The Taylored Expressions March key ingredients kit. The buttons are from SU and the image & sentiment are from the Sew Fabulous set from Squigglefly.

Today's challenge is Let It Shine.

I have limited access to supplies right now so there is a lot of layering here of a background piece I created and shiny papers from Paper Temptress. In fact this image is the last I printed before my office got tore apart. It is being painted and I currently have a laptop in the kitchen. Ugh.

The image {can you tell I love these (: ? } is from Sew Fabulous from...where else...Squigglefly!

Papers are: Sparkle Emeraude, Copper Metallic Glossy, Watercolor Cotton Paper and Sparkle Blanc. The water color paper is simply distress pads tapped in to the paper then sprayed with glimmer mist. The dress is colored with copics and then I have my shiny embellie (:

The entire team was sent a butterfly box template and we created our own version in honor of Danni!! Thanks Danni for all you do and for making this challenge so fun and such a success."

So I have a larger Buttefly box with a bouquet of butterflies that I added crackle accents and pearl color mists to different ones. To give you an idea that it could be vase for anything you want. Put a plastic insert and you are ready to rock n roll. The smaller butterfly box has crayons in it :-) because the polka dot underneath is a sketch book for those of us that like to sketch with crayons.

Ali has this fab tutorial going on over at Gingersnap Creations and she made it look so easy I got out of my chair and added packing tape to the first thing I saw. That happened to be a MaryKay Applause magazine. I cut a piece of packing tape. Slapped it over the image, soaked it, rubbed off the paper and made an eye catching ATC. Thanks Ali for the inspiration. I have another one coming. Have to cook din din.

Had a painter here today, also Ali, doing some amazing purple work in Takira's room. He painted our exterior about 4 years ago and he does amazing work. Now I am having Ali paint interior. Some rooms and some accent walls. I will take pics so if you read my blog you will see it. :-) More to come. I am very excited.

Squigglefly Challenge

The challenge this week at the Squigglefly blog is to create a card with a scene on it. Well what could be more scenic then this Park Bridge image created by Lynne Stansbury. I sized and the Diamond Border frame by Rich Davis, to fit just the way I wanted it to.

I had these cute little calendars that I purchased from Collage Stuff and thought I would put together an April birthday card :-) I colored the scene with distress inks on to the Sparkle Blanc that I printed my image on. Here I'm trying to show you that the Sparkle of this paper shines through regardless of your coloring medium. Cool stuff I tell ya.

The green layer is Spring Green Skinny Column and that is layered on Speckled Kraft which I randomly stamped with a flourish. All papers from Paper Temptress. Black victorian scrap at the top.

Corrosive Challenge Sunday

Every Sunday The Corrosive Challenge Blog has a different challenge. This week the challenge is to use the following sketch.

My image is from Hearts In Touch #141 Strip B and I pressed a Distress ink pad over parts of the stamp where I wanted that particular color, I used colors mustard see, scattered straw and shabby shutters. I cut the image out with on oval nestie and then sponged the colors around the edges of the image. The papers and embellishments are from the January kit I recieved from hip2bsquare scrapbooking. The dp is Basic Grey Origins and I belive the cardstock is American Crafts. It has a lovely texture to it. Be Happy is a portion of a stamp for Hero Arts.

Wax Paper Surprise

Image is from the Butterfly Collage set from I Brake For Stamps. Stamped with Memento black on some wax paper that had been smooshed into various acrylic paints and then allowed to dry. A suprisingly cool background. I always smoosh whatever is handy in to the acrylic paints to I don't waste it and you never know what you will end up with. Layers are Sparkle Abysse and Sparkle Noir from Paper Temptress.

Flutter By Wednesday!!

Flutter By Wednesday Challenge #99! This weeks challenge is to create a card using butterflies, fairies or angels and base it on this photo for your inspiration!

I have this cute fairy and some background paper I had created that reminded me of this inspiration photo so I rolled with it.

Card base and image is stamped on Sparkle Blanc. The fairy is layered on Rose Quartz. The lace is white lace spritzed with the new Electrifying Neon Color Mists from Outside the Margins.

The blue background piece is Ultra High Gloss smooshed ever so gently in to the spray from the Colors Mists underneath the sprayed ribbon :-) It's purty and I was determined it was going on this card somewheres. I had initially stamped my image on the background piece and then had a flurry of boo boos and decided I was too frustrated to show it.

The flourish from Inkadinkado in the background was brushed with some Ballistic Blue Color Mist and stamped on to the Sparkle Blanc.

I heat set it so that I could layer my card more quickly. "You Sparkle" is a stamp from my stash that does not have a manufacturer name on it. I colored Miss Fairy with copics and pink smoosh. (All papers from Paper Temptress).

Todays challenge is SFC38 - Fun Borders! Simply include a fun punched border on your creation or make your own fancy border!

My border is german scrap. It started out as a button border but that was just too much. bleh. What should have taken me 5 minutes took a painful 45 minutes with glue everywhere. So the backgound is kitchen foil with alchohol inks then i bugged it with the ornamental folder. The Vintage Woman by Rich Davis is available at Squigglefly here. The diamond border around the Vintage Woman is a sneak peak ;-)

I then started looking at this card and thought goodness, much too busy. She doesn't look as elegant as I envisioned so I made another card. This one fits in with the border challenge too because of the border surrounding my image ;-). I got a little excited coloring her plume but I think she's still purty.

Wow! In five days, Gingersnap Creations will be a year old! Unbelievable! That's why this month's Random Redhead Challenge is to make a Birthday Greeting!

Oops. I forgot to post my challenge card. Don't you hate it when work interferes with play time? Better late then never though right.

For my challenge card I stamped the Solid Sequin Waste from The Artistic Stamper with yellow acrylic ink onto a patterned paper that I didn't really like the color of. I then randomly stamped Flower Power images from The Artistic Stamper on the background piece, layered on black and yellow basis papers from Paper Temptress. added a few silver brads, dipped the edges of the card base in silver metallic acrylic paint then dipped in utee and over heated to give the drippy effect. Best Wishes sentiment is from the 20's Ladies Plate from The Artistic Stamper.

This week I am using Butterfly Kisses from Stampsmith. This beautiful little girl is stamped on a background piece I created using alcohol inks and embossing powders on Matte Glossy. The image was stamped with black versafine and clear embossed. Gold leafing pen on the edges of all the layers. The purple layer is Violet Glamma Natural. The black layer is Retro Black Glossy Lustre. The card base is Retro Gold Glossy Lustre. All papers from Paper Temptress.

I try to keep reminding myself sometimes you have to let the image & the paper do the talking so I stopped there. Please play along. Show us your creation by adding it to Mr. Linky on the Flutter By Wednesday blog :-)

Shimmering Antique Swirls

Stamp is from Hearts In Touch # 137 Antique Swirls. Image from Antique Swirls is stamped with Versafine and embossed with Ranger clear embossing powder.

Papers are all from Paper Temptress. Matte glossy sprayed with various glimmer mists. Black Ruche as my photo corners and black layer. Cappucino as my gold layer.
Misc twine and edges are brushed with different Brillaint inks.

My daughter received some flowers from a secret admirer during lunch on Valentines Day. I'm guessing they were captivated by her shirt.

gg Designs' Spray Starch Challenge

gg Designs' is having a Spray Starch Technique challenge and this is the most fun and most easy technique. You can see all the details here.

I used Black Basis as my cs for the spray starch and pearl ex. The image is Bird of Paradise from gg Designs' and is stamped on Sparkle Blanc. Layers are Gamma Green and Venus Violet Pearlescent, all from Paper Temptress. "Imagine" is a sticker, the flower is Prima and no idea where the purple metallic brad came from or the sheer ribbon. I'm great at retailing details like that. NOT!

Gingersnap Creations #43: Color Challenge - 3 Colors You Love

It feels like I am doing a lot of black, red & gold lately so those are the colors I chose for the challenge.

I stamped my Lady image from the 20's Ladies Plate from The Artistic Stamper on Sparkle Blanc. The heart layer is the Heart background from The Artistic Stamper stamped on Sparkle Noir with acrylic paints. The card base is also Sparkle Noir. The red layer is Sparkle Vermilliion. The gold layer is Gold Sparkle (text weight). All papers from Paper Temptress.
